At Results Driven Fitness (RDF), we believe in the power of targeted, expert training to help young athletes realise their full potential. Elliott Dewey’s journey with us began when he was just 15, and it’s a powerful testament to how dedication and guidance can turn potential into performance. From representing his country internationally to becoming the captain of the Basingstoke Bisons, Elliott’s story is an inspiring example of what’s possible with the right support and training.
From Young Talent to International Competitor
When Elliott first started to train with me, he was already competing internationally in ice hockey within his age group, but he faced a new level of challenge.
“I started training with James when I was 15. At the time, I was playing ice hockey internationally and was starting to be scouted to turn professional. This meant having to play against men much bigger and stronger than I was.”
To help Elliott meet these demands, I designed a tailored programme focusing on strength, speed, agility, and conditioning - the essential qualities for success in competitive ice hockey. Over the next four years, our structured and progressive training helped Elliott develop a competitive edge that set him apart, both domestically and internationally.
“James was my strength and conditioning coach for four years, developing my strength, speed, agility, and conditioning to compete in the professional men’s game and stand out on the international stage by captaining the national team.”
The RDF Approach: Personalised Training for Elite Performance
At RDF, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programmes, especially when it comes to ambitious athletes. We understand that each athlete has unique needs and goals. Through our personalised approach, we provided Elliott with targeted exercises, adjustments, and progress monitoring, ensuring that his training was continuously optimised to build both physical and mental resilience.
The focused, one-on-one training at RDF equipped Elliott not only to excel on the ice but also to lead his team with confidence.
Beyond Training: RDF’s Support in Academic and Athletic Opportunities
RDF’s commitment to developing young athletes goes beyond physical training. As Elliott prepared to transition to university, I helped him explore options to study in the U.S. on an ice hockey scholarship, providing him with guidance and support that extended beyond the gym. This holistic approach is what sets RDF apart—we equip athletes for long-term success in all aspects of their careers.
Today, Elliott is the captain of the Basingstoke Bisons, making history as the youngest player to lead the club in its professional history.
“Being part of RDF has helped me achieve my goals, giving me the strength, resilience, and skills I need to compete at the highest level”
Elliott’s Transformation with RDF: Building Strength, Confidence, and Leadership
Elliott’s story is a testament to the power of RDF’s tailored, no-nonsense approach. By combining high-level athletic conditioning with mentorship and guidance, RDF enables young athletes to push past their limits and unlock their full potential.
